Baroque
Ensemble |
|
Open to both singers and instrumentalists, the Baroque
Ensemble performs baroque music on period instruments,
with attention to style and performance practice.
The School's baroque instruments, such as harpsichords,
baroque strings and baroque winds, are available
to students. Each semester the ensemble performs
one or two concerts on campus and sometimes plays
off-campus as well.

Brass
Ensembles |
|
All second-semester brass first-year students, first-semester
sophomores, and transfer students participate in
brass ensembles (quintets, quartets or other small
ensembles).
|
|
Duo
Piano Ensemble |
|
The
Duo Piano Ensemble studies and performs duo piano
and piano duet literature. Performance opportunities
include student recitals, senior projects, the Festival
of New Music, and appropriate professional and community
programs.
|
|
Flute
Choir |
|
The
Flute Choir performs music for varying sizes of
flute ensembles utilizing all flutes from the bass
to the piccolo. Performances are given each semester,
incorporating standard works with new music and
specially commissioned pieces.

Horn
Ensemble |
|
The Horn Ensemble is open to all university horn
players presently studying at FSU. The Horn Ensemble
performs on campus as well as for conventions and
other special occassions. In 1992, the Horn Ensemble
performed as the official U.S. representative at
the International Horn Symposium in Manchester,
England.

New
Music Ensemble |
|
The New Music Ensemble performs modern and contemporary
works by famous composers as well as concerts and
readings of the compositions of FSU student composers.
|
|
Percussion
Ensemble |
|
The
Percussion Ensemble performs several concerts a
year, incorporating a wide variety of repertoire,
including traditional and new music and arrangements.
Instrumentation encompasses the broad spectrum of
the percussion family.

Saxophone
Ensemble |
|
The
Saxophone Ensemble is a chamber ensemble ranging
from soprano to bass saxophone and performs a stylistically
diverse selection of music. Performance opportunities
include annual "Eine Kleine Saxmusik"
concerts, regional North American Saxophone Alliance
performances, and high school presentations.

Trumpet
Ensemble |
|
The
Trumpet Ensemble has performed by invitation at
the Florida Music Educators Conference and four
times for the International Trumpet Guild Conference.
In 1997 the FSU Baroque Trumpet Ensemble performed
at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in
Sweden.

All
