Dear
Students, Parents and Colleagues:
Welcome to our 63rd season! Florida
State University houses one of the largest and
most comprehensive schools of music in the nation.
Music instruction began at the University in 1900,
and the School of Music is proud of its century-long
tradition of excellence in professional education
in music. In response to the educational needs
of high school and junior high/middle school students,
since 1942 the School of Music has offered a course
of study designed to offer young musicians unique

opportunities
to develop their musical talents. Our twelve specialized
programs are all designed to enhance the artistic
and social growth of each individual student.
The campus setting helps each camper develop social
relationships with other musicians who share their
interests. Last summer we hosted campers from
27 states and six foreign countries, providing
our students wonderful opportunities to get to
know young musicians from all over the nation
and world. Supervised and informal recreational
activities are an integral part of each program.
Campers are housed and fed in Southgate Campus
Centre, an air-conditioned, supervised, private
residence hall near the School of Music buildings
and adjacent to the campus.
Enrollment for this year's camps will be limited.
Register early to ensure your participation. For
additional information, please contact my office
at (850) 644-4069 or 850/644-9934, or e-mail us
at rawillia@mailer.fsu.edu.
We look forward to having you join us this summer.
Sincerely,
Steven
