KIMBERLY
VanWEELDEN, Assistant Professor of Choral
Music Education, received her bachelor of
music education degree from Drake University,
Des Moines, Iowa, and her master of music
and Ph. D. in music education from the University
of Arizona, Tucson.
A
choral and general music specialist, Dr.
VanWeelden began her teaching career in
the public schools of State Center, Iowa.
She is an active member of the American
Choral Directors Association and the Music
Educators National Conference and has presented
papers at state, national, and international
conferences. Her research interests include
undergraduate conductor training, students
with special needs in choral performing
ensembles, and geriatric vocal pedagogy
in the choral rehearsal. Dr. VanWeelden
is currently President of the Florida College
Music Educator's Association.
