KIM
SHIVELY, Director of Special Programs, joined
the School of Music staff in 2000. Since
earning her bachelor's degree in Communication
from FSU in 1988, she has pursued a mass
communication career. Her professional experience
includes work in both print and electronic
media from television to radio to newsletters
to the Internet. Mrs. Shively has directed
live newscasts, shot and edited commercials
for cable TV, acted as spokesperson for
two state agencies, edited newsletters,
and been part of a team that won Best of
the Web awards.
In
her current position, she is responsible
for producing the School of Music Alumni
Magazine, furthering alumni development,
coordinating the parents program, and enhancing
the community support network for the School.
Her work with the community includes being
the main point of contact for the University
Musical Associates, the community patrons
group for the School. She also coordinates
the activities of the Eminent Scholars and
assists the Dean with fundraising activities
and special projects.
