STEVEN
N. KELLY, Associate Professor of Music Education,
received his bachelor's and master's degrees
in music from the University of North Carolina
at Greensboro and his Ph.D. in music education
from the University of Kansas.
An
instrumental music specialist, Dr. Kelly
taught public school in Virginia and served
on the music faculties at Brevard College
and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Dr. Kelly has been an active clinician,
adjudicator, consultant, and guest conductor
across the Midwest and Southeast United
States. He has published in national journals
and regularly presents papers and workshops
at state, regional, and national conferences.
Dr.
Kelly is the former Chair of the MENC Affective
Response Special Research Interest Group
and is currently President of the Florida
College Music Educators Association His
primary research interests include teacher
education, psychological and sociological
aspects of music, and research related to
performing ensembles.
