Job
Title: SENIOR PROGRAM ASSISTANT (Closing Date:
November 12, 2003)
Minimum
Qualifications: A high school diploma and five
years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college
coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute
at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Requirements:
Skilled in the use of standard office machines, including
PC, FAX, network, and software (MS Office). Ability
to work in a fast paced office environment; excellent
interpersonal skills; ability to deal with diverse individuals
in a tactful, courteous, and professional manner. Ability
to plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work assignments,
and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Preferred:
Knowledge of University and School policies governing
registration, degree requirements, graduation, and research/grants.
Note:
This position maintains student academic files in the
School of Music. Organizes, processes, and maintains
database of current students; schedules appointments/rehearsals;
prepares correspondence for Assistant Dean. Trains and
supervises graduate assistants; prepares statistical
reports; processes tuition waivers for graduate assistants/fellows;
prepares and maintains waiver budget summary reports.
Prepare and process graduate assistant offer letters,
contracts, appointment papers, and evaluations. Schedules,
prepares and coordinates School of Music graduate student
orientation sessions, and workshops; publicize fellowship
opportunities and student resource files. Serves as
resource for School of Music Registrar, Undergraduate
Studies, Admissions, and Alumni offices, as well as
Graduate Studies, Dean of the Faculties, Office of Research,
Graduation Office, and International Center.
