JOHN
DREW, Professor of Trombone, joined the
faculty of Florida State University in 1980.
Since that time he has been active as a
soloist and clinician, including frequent
appearances at both the International Trombone
Festival and Eastern Trombone Workshops.
In 1992 he became the first recipient of
the Neill Humfeld International Trombone
Association Outstanding Teacher Award.
In
addition to his teaching responsibilities,
Dr. Drew is principal trombonist with the
Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and a member
of the Florida State Brass Quintet, whose
tours have included performances in Carnegie
Hall, the Kennedy Center, and throughout
the southern and eastern United States and
Europe. He is currently President of the
International Trombone Association.
