DEBORAH
BISH, Assistant Professor of Clarinet, came
to Florida State University in 2001 from
Henderson State University, where she served
as professor of clarinet. She has performed
with orchestras throughout the United States
including the Arizona Opera (most notably
in a production of The Ring Cycle), the
Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra with Jeffrey
Siegel, the Phoenix Symphony, the North
Carolina Symphony, and the Arkansas Symphony.
Bish
is also an active clinician, most recently
hosting the second annual Arkansas Clarinet
Symposium in 2001. She is an avid performer
of 20th century works, and is currently
working on a biography of clarinetist and
composer William O. Smith. She holds degrees
from Arizona State University and Florida
State University.
